CO.AS.IT Planned Activity Groups (PAGs) provide eligible older Italians with an opportunity to socialize with their peers in a supportive, culturally appropriate, centre based environment. Our PAGs are offered in the North East, North, West and East regions of Melbourne.
The PAG’s aim to assist consumers who due to physical frailty or onset of dementia and other types of cognitve impairment, find it difficult to participate in general social groups.
In addition to the socializing aspect of the PAG program, the purpose of CO.AS.IT PAGs is to assist individuals to maintain and enhance their independence and connection to the community.
The program of structured activities focus on improving the individual’s daily living skills as well as meeting their physical, emotional and social support needs. Consumers are assisted by qualified Italian speaking staff whilst at PAG.
Our Italian specific PAGs acknowledge individual needs, interests and preferences. Consumer participation at a PAG also gives family carers much needed respite.
Admission to PAG requires an assessment to determine eligibility for the service. Transport can be provided via taxi using consumer’s multi-purpose taxi cards. A nominal daily attendance fee applies.
